Hartford Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus Fire

The Hartford Circus fire was July 6 1944. In this fire there was 167 deaths (many of whom were trampled in the stampede to escape) and only a reported 100 were over the age of 15. There was thousands of people packed into the Big Top to see the show. Today the site of the fire is a housing project. To the right in the links section there is a link to Hartford's History website. The picture posted on here is from the website at Hartford History, it is an photo of the scene that day that so many people died. Please check out the website and send a note to those who perished in the fire, these are some of the people that gave their lives to make a safer life for us today.
