Hartford Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus Fire

The Hartford Circus fire was July 6 1944. In this fire there was 167 deaths (many of whom were trampled in the stampede to escape) and only a reported 100 were over the age of 15. There was thousands of people packed into the Big Top to see the show. Today the site of the fire is a housing project. To the right in the links section there is a link to Hartford's History website.
